The May 16, 2023 Consolidated Election will consist of Candidate seats up for election in 2023 (contested races only) and Ballot questions for the following Taxing Districts in Kootenai County:

Absentee Voting

Voters can request absentee ballots online at voteidaho.gov or fill out a paper form at our office at 1808 N 3rd St. in CdA.  Absentee ballots start getting mailed on Friday, April 14th to voters who have requested them for this election.  The last day to request an absentee ballot for the May Election is Friday May 5th by 5pm.  These requests must be received in our office by 5 pm, postmarks are not honored by Idaho law.

Early Voting

Early Voting will be held at the Kootenai County Elections Department from May 1st to May 12th, Monday - Friday, 8-5.

Voter Registration

Open Voter Registration for the May 16th Election will close on Friday, April 21st.  Before this date, voters can register or update their registration online at voteidaho.gov or by filling out a paper form at the Kootenai County Elections Department. 
After April 21st, voters can register and vote at the same time during Early Voting or on Election Day, using Photo ID, and Proof of Residency that is dated April 16th or earlier.

Logic and Accuracy Test

A Logic and Accuracy test of the Kootenai County Elections Tabulators will be conducted at our office on Wednesday, May 10th at 10 am. This test is open to the public.
