Inert Fill

Inert fill consists of rock, bricks, clean soil, and concrete. The Ramsey Transfer Station provides a special area for disposal of these items. The health department regulations prohibit the disposal of biodegradable materials in this area. Ask the transfer station personnel for directions to the inert fill area, if needed.

Ramsey Station

Ramsey Inert Pit accepts: 

  • Bricks
  • Ceramic Tiles
  • Cinder Blocks
  • Concrete (with or without rebar)
  • Concrete with Metal or Wood Posts (please try to cut as much of the metal or wood off as possible)
  • Dirt
  • Rock

More Information

Make sure to drop off only items allowed in the inert fill area. This is not the location to dispose of sod, leaves, pine needles, dirt with grass or other plants or wood. If you have any questions about inert materials in this area at Ramsey, please ask before dropping your items.

Prairie Station

The Prairie Transfer Station accepts inert fill as general refuse. The Prairie site does not have an inert pit; therefore, no discounted rate is offered at this location. Customers that have large amounts of rock, brick, concrete should take these materials to the Ramsey Transfer Station to receive the discounted rate.
