History of the Clark House
In 1914 the 51-year-old Clark took a trip to Santa Barbara, California, and mysteriously disappeared, along with his wealth. Mrs. Clark sold the estate at auction in 1917. The house passed through many owners and was used as a hotel, a convalescent center during World War II, a youth home, and a restaurant. When Monty Danner purchased the residence in 1989, it was in disrepair. Through his efforts, the house was massively renovated into a restaurant and hotel.
