Vision Statement

The Kootenai County Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) visualizes being the Certified Local Government (CLG) agent and advisory board for the Kootenai County Board of Commissioners and all incorporated cities within Kootenai County who wish to participate in the CLG program. The HPC envisions embracing public participation and support in fulfilling the commission's powers, duties, and responsibilities as outlined in the commission's bylaws.

The HPC further envisions residents of and visitors to Kootenai County having greater knowledge of Kootenai County historic properties through educational and interpretive programs conducted by the HPC itself and/or in collaboration with community partners (e.g. school districts, private school consortiums, home school support organizations, historical societies, and museums within Kootenai County). The HPC visualizes setting the operational standards and record of achievements to which all CLGs in the State of Idaho should aspire.
