Candidate Filing will be conducted through the Idaho Secretary of State's Online Candidate Filing Portal.

We ask all candidates to please utilize the online candidate filing system for filing their Declaration of Candidacy, instead of completing the paper declaration form.
Candidates for county office who are wishing to pay the filing fee may file for office online and pay by credit card at
https://voteidaho.gov/candidate-filing/
or may file for office online and then pay the fee by cash or check in-person at the Elections Office.
Candidates for County Office who are wishing to gather petition signatures, may utilize the Petition of Candidacy, which can be found in the packet of County Candidacy forms available here Version OptionsPositions up for Election Headline . These signatures must be brought in-person to the Elections Office for verification.
Candidates for Precinct Office may file for office online at https://voteidaho.gov/candidate-filing/ or may file in-person at the
Elections Office.

All campaign materials (signs, flyer, mailings, TV ads, etc.) require a disclosure (paid for by) statement. For example: "Paid for by {candidate's name}."
67-6614A. PUBLICATION OR DISTRIBUTION OF POLITICAL STATEMENTS. Whenever any person makes an expenditure for the purpose of financing communications expressly advocating the election, approval or defeat of a candidate, measure or person standing for election to the position of precinct committeeman through any broadcasting station, newspaper, magazine, outdoor advertising facility, direct mailing or any other type of general public political advertising, the person responsible for such communication shall be clearly indicated on such communication.
