Kootenai County Adult Misdemeanor Probation serves as an instrument for the Courts of the First Judicial District in Kootenai County, in the supervision of those who have been ordered by the court to supervised probation. Probationers are proactively supervised to promote public safety, court ordered compliance, and accountability.
It is also the mission of this department to help reduce incarceration rates and mitigate the risks for re-offense by directing and assisting probationers in personal and community adjustment.
Probation Officers work hand in hand with community groups, social service agencies, and treatment providers. It is the desire and goal of this office to help bring about positive change in people, so that they may be successful, law abiding and contributing members of the community. We maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement agencies to help create an environment that promotes public safety.
