The purpose or mission of the Snowgroomer department

Our mission is to provide the best groomed trails in the State of Idaho, in the most cost effective way possible. This will be accomplished by continually improving operational efficiencies through training, implementation of new technologies, defined travel routes, and partnerships with private and public entities.

The Snowgroomer department provides groomed snowmobile trails, located in Kootenai County and parts of Shoshone County, in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest. The Snowgroomer program does not provide towing and recovery services, trash removal, or restroom maintenance at facilities owned by the Forest Service.
